Literature Text

Vasil was normally a slender guy, however he found himself getting a little heavy at his stomach. He did have odd eating habits, sometimes he ate a big amount of food and other times he ate very little portions. Sometimes it was more junk than good things and other times, it was more good things than junk. So he really shouldn’t be surprised that he was getting a bit of weight, it would be gone sooner or later. Oh well, at least you couldn’t really notice it with his shirt on so that was good. Vasil was in his senior year of high school at the age of nineteen years old. Now he didn’t have many friends save for Jake who was on the football team, though they used to have a hard time getting along considering Vasil wasn’t on the team and truthfully, Jake was a pain in the rear. However they eventually started to change when the ended up having to wait at the same bus stop.

They had gotten to talking to try an pass the time, in which they found they had much in common. A surprising friendship but one Vasil had come to enjoy having though there were some odd moments here an there but they were ignored. More so a particular event yesterday night, Jake had gotten drunk and was acting like a goof and Vasil was fine with it cause they were drunk. However things quickly went into a different direction when the football player kissed him and the smaller fellow was unable to do a thing about it. When they came to, they both agreed not to speak of it again.

Getting ready for school, he grabbed hold of his lunch and his backpack thus allowing him to go on his way. His mother had already left for work as a note on the door allowed him to know as he walked out the door and to the bus stop where he knew someone was waiting. Jake was there and he was already dressed in his football jersey, odd considering there wasn’t a game today was there?

“Hey Jake.” Vasil greeted as he came to a halt at the bench.

“H...Hey....” Jake said a bit nervous, giving a slanted smile. “What’s up?”

“Nothing but the usual, though everything fine with you?” Jake’s face went red.

“Eh...everything’s fine! Nothing to worry about. I’m just excited for...for the big game ya know?” Vasil tilted his head.

"What game Jake?"

"huh....?" Vasil folded his arms as he stared at Jake.

"I want to know what game you're talking about. To my knowledge, there isn't a game today." Jake's face went dark red before it paled.

"W....e...a..."

Vasil sighed and sat down next to the muscular man that was the same age as he was. Honestly, Jake could be a airhead from time to time but this was ridiculous. Jake scooted a bit away from his friend and that's when dots started to connect in the youngster's mind.

"You're not acting this way due to last night are you?" Vasil asked, only for Jake to tense up.

"Thought we a....agreed not to...bring that up?" Jake questioned, not looking at Vasil.

"Well what else am I to think is the cause when you're acting all squirrely?"

"Just leave it be...okay?" Vasil sighed.

"Fine. Look I'm not trying to make it harder to forget, I was just trying to figure out why you're going on about a game, when there isn't one today." Jake leaned back and glanced to Vasil.

"I know...I just...got spooked is all. I didn't know what to say."

"You don't have to say anything. We acted like idiots and leave it at that." Jake smiled.

"Thanks pal." Vasil gave a smile back.

"Don't mention it."

With that, the bus pulled up and the two got on board. Trying to think come up with a better choice of conversation now that they were on the bus.
